Used to run on a regular basis, although just had a two year break. Can anyone give advice on the correct training program to return to running 3-4 times per week?

try Nike web site they've got some good plans
It will give you a good idea of where you are, it will either be hard work and you can go with the read moreplan or if you find it easier than expected you can skip a week if wanted.
Well done on getting back to it. I would look up a couch to 5k plan and go from there. Good luck.
