Welcome to The Running Bug!
We have rebuilt The Running Bug from the ground up, keeping all the best bits and adding a host of new features to make it even easier for you to get the most out of your favourite social network.
Some features have moved – for example, to see all your runs and total miles, click on your Profile picture and click on My Runs. To see the maps of your runs, just click on a run in your run history. You’ll also see all your Friends – now called Followers – and those you follow in your Profile menu. Some features are still being built and will be going live soon, such as Trending in Forums. And we’ve lost a few features that just weren’t being used, such as Groups and Personal Messages. Here's what you'll find...
More than 8 out of 10 people visit The Running Bug every day via their mobile or tablet, so we’ve adopted cutting edge design principles to ensure everything you read on The Running Bug is just as good on your mobile or tablet as it is on your laptop or PC.
It’s now even easier to:
- View Training plans
- Try the latest Workouts
- Follow the latest Recipes
- You can also upload photos and share videos on the move and get social and see what your friends are up to! To navigate the new site simply tap the three lines in the top right of your screen and the menu will appear.
The number one social network for runners
You can now post your favourite videos from YouTube to your friends on The Running Bug – simply copy and paste the link and the video will appear and adapt for whatever device your friends watch it on.
You can also post multiple photos which your friends can scroll through on their newsfeed, and like, comment or share any posts to The Running Bug or any other social network you use.
Our new Search functionality works just like Google – simply type in what you’re looking for. Whether it’s an Article, Event, Training Plan, Workout or Forum chat, you’ll find it faster than ever before.
One-click activity syncing
We have added some of the largest run tracking apps and devices to help you see and share all your activity in one place. You can also still upload your runs manually.
Your favourite brands
As the number one social network for runners, you can now follow your favourite brands, events and running charities on The Running Bug. Similar to Facebook or Twitter, simply click ‘Follow’ and their updates will appear in your newsfeed.
The largest directory of running events in the UK, we’ve also made it even easier to browse and rate your running events. Take a look here.
These are just a few key developments. Happy running!
