Dull aching legs, during the night.

I don't know if anyone can help me. Over the last few weeks I've been experiencing a dull aching pain in my legs during the night. It's not an intense pain but it's enough to wake me up and keep me awake until I take a painkiller. I get it most nights, even when I haven't been on a run for 3-4 days.

I guess the best way to further describe the pain is, it's as if my bones are aching, rather than my muscles.

It is possible that it's present during the day but motion seems to help ease the pain so I'm not 100% sure.

Has anyone experienced this? And/or do you have any suggestions on what I can do to stop the ache, which do not involve painkillers?

A colleague of mine suggested that my diet may be lacking in sodium.

Thank you.

Mandy Regenass You're right I guess. I'm not one for seeing the Doctor unless I'm in real pain. I will book an read moreappointment and pethaps get a full medical while I'm there, as I am running the 2013 London Marathon.  Thanks.

    monster2490 Hi Mandy,

Anything that last over a week pain wise, especially when your not excercising is a definite trip to the docs.

At least it will put your mind at rest and you'll have a definite answer.

Also speaking to the Doc or pharmacy will get you the right pain relief.
